AEP OHIO ANNOUNCES ENERGY EFFICIENCY AWARD WINNERS

OHIO PARTNERS FOR AFFORDABLE ENERGY HONORED WITH SPECIAL LEADERSHIP AWARD AND THREE COMPANIES HONORED WITH SUSTAINED EXCELLENCE AWARD

GAHANNA, Ohio, April 29, 2015 — AEP Ohio, a unit of American Electric Power (NYSE: AEP), honored 22 businesses, individuals and schools from throughout the state at its Energy Efficiency Awards event held yesterday at the Grange Insurance Audubon Center in Columbus. The awards ceremony recognizes AEP Ohio’s business customers and partners who have demonstrated a strong commitment to energy efficiency. Awards were presented to winners in 12 categories (See list of winners and categories below).

Special recognition was given to Ohio Partners for Affordable Energy (OPAE), which was honored with the Energy Efficiency Leadership Award for its long-time advocacy for energy efficiency, responsiveness and adaptability throughout the implementation of energy efficiency programs.

Crown Battery Manufacturing Company, Energy Management Solutions Inc. and Greene Solutions LLC were recognized with the first Sustained Excellence Award for their sustained energy efficiency efforts over multiple years.

“Each of our energy efficiency award winners has adopted a culture of energy efficiency within their businesses and with their customers,” said Pablo Vegas, AEP Ohio president and chief operating officer. “Energy savings makes a significant impact on energy costs, increases productivity, enhances safety and contributes to a better environment.
