Approximately 380 Public Service Company of Oklahoma (PSO) workers and contractors are on their way to assist Tampa Electric as well as Florida Power and Light (FPL) as Hurricane Milton moves toward Florida’s west coast. 

PSO crews were released Sunday by Appalachian Power Company (APCO) following their massive effort to bring the lights back on for 282,000 customers in Virginia, West Virginia and Tennessee.

Approximately 85 Public Service Company of Oklahoma (PSO) workers are on their way to assist Florida Power and Light (FPL) as Hurricane Helene continues moving towards Florida.

TULSA, Okla. (September 16, 2024) – Public Service Company of Oklahoma (PSO) filed for Oklahoma Corporation Commission (OCC) approval to purchase a natural gas combined-cycle generation plant located in Jenks, Oklahoma. This purchase will meet customers’ projected power needs using an existing local facility while supporting the Oklahoma economy.

Seventeen FFA chapters across Oklahoma will receive a total of more than $36,000 in American Electric Power Foundation FFA STEM After-School Grants this year.

Public Service Company of Oklahoma (PSO) has named Dwayne Apple as the company’s new vice president of Distribution Operations. Apple replaces Jennifer Ellis who has assumed a new leadership role with PSO’s parent company, American Electric Power (AEP). 

TULSA, Okla. (May 27, 2024) – Public Service Company of Oklahoma (PSO) has stepped up to assist their sister utility Southwestern Electric Power Company (SWEPCO) in northwest Arkansas to restore power to the communities affected by Sunday morning’s tornadoes. 

TULSA, Okla. (May 8, 2024) – Significant restoration has been achieved for PSO customers in the Bartlesville and Barnsdall area effected by the May 6^th category EF-4 tornado.  As of today at noon, approximately 5,864 PSO customers have had power restored with the remaining 3,000 customers estimated to receive power between today and tomorrow at 11 p.m. Thursday.

Toys to make learning science and math fun for Grove kindergartners, broadcast production equipment for Idabel Middle School and calculators for Blanchard math students are some of the projects funded by 2024 AEP Teacher Vision Grants.
