TULSA, Okla. (June 4, 2025) – The Oklahoma Corporation Commission (OCC) has approved the Public Service Company of Oklahoma's (PSO) purchase of the Green Country Power Plant, a 795 MW natural gas-fired generation facility located in Jenks, Oklahoma. 

The FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) robotics grants program is a nationwide initiative that supports pre-k through 12th-grade student education, allowing students to compete in local, regional, and international events.

The 24 American Electric Power (AEP) Teacher Vision grants to Oklahoma public school teachers total nearly $8,000. Ranging from $100 to $500, the grants are designed to make creative projects possible for Pre-K through grade 12 teachers.

This fall, Oklahoma FFA chapters will have the opportunity to turn their STEM ideas into reality because of a $45,000 grant by the Public Service Company of Oklahoma (PSO) Foundation to the Oklahoma FFA Foundation. Oklahoma FFA chapters located in areas served by PSO can now apply to the Oklahoma FFA Foundation for a STEM After-School grant.

Public Service Company of Oklahoma (PSO) announces the completion of an infrastructure project aimed at improving power reliability for the communities of Chelsea and Foyil. This project, part of the Distribution Automation Circuit Recovery (DACR) program, involved upgrading and rebuilding power lines between Chelsea and Nowata, which will provide an additional source of power even when outages occur on other lines.

Complete restoration has been achieved for PSO customers across Oklahoma effected by the March 14^th wind event. Customer outages peaked at 25,663 Friday afternoon and were 95% restored by 8 a.m. Saturday morning. Complete restoration was achieved Saturday by 5 p.m. 

Public Service Company of Oklahoma (PSO) announces that the Oklahoma Corporation Commission (OCC) has issued a final order approving a settlement reached in its rate review late last year.  

Public Service Company of Oklahoma (PSO) received the Emergency Response Award, one of the highest accolades in the electric utility industry, from the Edison Electric Institute (EEI) for its exemplary response to the Barnsdall Tornado of May 2024.

Public Service Company of Oklahoma (PSO) is contributing $9,250 to rural volunteer fire departments and emergency management teams near its Rock Falls Wind Project area. This donation reflects PSO’s support and gratitude for the critical services these entities provide, ensuring the safety of PSO workers, landowners and neighbors during emergencies.

The Blackwell Youth Center (BYS) in Blackwell, Oklahoma is receiving a $10,000 American Electric Power Foundation grant to help the non-profit continue its mission of providing a safe haven for local children to grow and learn. The AEP Foundation made this grant at the recommendation of Public Service Company of Oklahoma (PSO), a Tulsa-based electric provider.
