System Upgrades & Grid Innovation Projects
With a constant eye on monitoring the electrical delivery system to customers, PSO identifies several projects throughout the year, based on data analytics, which can improve the reliability and resiliency of the grid. The customer focus for each project is to provide a higher level of service through implementation of new technology, system upgrades, and innovations to the power grid.
Here are just a few of the many projects designed to improve your power:
South Tulsa Area Project
Total Impact: 2,000 PSO customers
Okmulgee Area Project
Total Impact: 7,000 PSO customers
Pine & Peoria, Tulsa Project
Total Impact: 7,772 PSO customers
Technology innovation to improve your power
"Self-healing" technology known as Distribution Automation Circuit Reconfiguration (DACR) can identify electrical faults on any circuit and within milliseconds, automatically isolate that fault and attempt to re-route power delivery using nearby circuits. The goal is that as few customers as possible will be impacted by an outage due to a circuit fault.
