Storm Response Update #3 - Final Update
PSO has restored power to the vast majority of customers affected by weather-related outages across portions of western and southwestern Oklahoma. Crews will continue to work until all customers are restored as well as respond to any new outages that may occur.
As of 12:00 PM details of our storm response are as follows:
Weather
A winter mix of rain, snow, sleet, freezing rain, and gusty winds affected parts of PSO’s service area beginning Thursday, December 31, and continuing through Friday, January 1 primarily in the western portions of the area. Ice accumulations on some lines in the Lawton district were observed with precipitation turning to snow around 1 a.m. Friday morning.
Outages and Restoration Efforts
Outages due to significant winter weather peaked on Friday morning at approximately 700 customers for the Lawton district and 1200in the Tulsa district.
PSO crews, along with additional crews and support personnel, are continuing to make repairs.
Resources
As outage restoration work is completed, crews are being shifted to other areas, where outages still remain. Additional crews from outside the state are beginning to return home Friday morning with some crews remaining on-site to be available to respond to any new outages.

CUSTOMER MESSAGES
- For safety’s sake, assume that any downed utility line is energized with deadly electric current. Stay away from the line and do not touch it with anything. Report it to PSO at 1-888-218-3919.
- Please do not approach crews and utility vehicles you see in your neighborhood to ask when power will be restored. Doing so could jeopardize your safety. Outward vision from the large utility vehicles can be limited. A crew may not see someone who has walked up to their work truck.
GENERATOR SAFETY
- Power Outage: If you use a generator, please follow the manufacturer’s operating instructions. Do not operate the unit indoors. Connect appliances directly to the generator’s electric outlets…not to the main electrical panel of your home or business unless you have had an electric load transfer switch installed to isolate your home’s wiring from PSO’s electric system. Otherwise, you jeopardize the safety of utility workers.
