Residents in thirty-seven Choctaw Nation Housing Authority (CNHA) houses and apartments should soon be noticing significant savings on their home energy bills, thanks to a program provided by Public Service Company of Oklahoma (PSO).

About a half-dozen PSO workers and program partners spent all day Monday at the CNHA residences in Hugo installing free faucet aerators, night lights and compact fluorescent lights (CFLs). The installations were part of PSO’s Home Energy Audit program, which helps customers learn how saving energy can help them save money.

"While saving energy is important, this program is also about talking face to face with customers and partnering with them to help meet their energy needs," said Dawn Casey, PSO Energy Efficiency and Consumer Programs coordinator. "Our goal of this effort was not just to provide residents with the energy-saving devices, but also to learn about their individual needs and then share tips on ways they can continue saving money through energy efficiency."
