On St. Patrick’s Day, come see one of the greenest cars on the road. It’s a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle – or PHEV. As far as we know, it’s the only one in Oklahoma.
WHEN: Tuesday, March 17, 10 a.m. – noon.
WHERE: PSO General Office…212 East Sixth Street
(Near our front entrance, on the north side of the building)
WHAT: Demonstration and photo opportunity of a first of its kind PHEV
-- It’s pretty much like a regular hybrid – only different. This one plugs right into the wall! --
Our PHEV is a Toyota Prius which was converted to run on lithium-ion batteries with a gasoline engine assist. The batteries have a five kilowatt-hour capacity and only take five hours to fully charge. The car comes equipped with a data monitoring system and electric meter to capture valuable information such as electrical load and fuel efficiency over varying operating conditions.
St. Patrick’s Day is all about the green. So be one of the first to see our green machine.
