Wind Power For PSO Customers
PSO - Oklahoma's leading provider of renewable energy

PSO is the state's largest purchaser and distributor of wind energy, with 393 wind-generated megawatts (MW) under long-term contracts. That's enough energy to power approximately 98,000 homes. The contracts enable PSO to distribute clean wind power to all of its customers without raising customer rates. While actual production is dependent on weather, estimates show PSO customers are receiving between 7-8 percent of their electricity from our wind energy sources.

PSO recently announced agreements for an additional 198 MW of renewable energy from planned facilities near Elk City and Lawton. With the addition of these two new resources PSO expects to receive approximately 11 percent of its energy from wind.

PSO continues to look for more opportunities to harness Oklahoma's abundant supply of wind for the benefit of customers and economic development in the state

Located about 15 miles northwest of Lawton, Blue Canyon II is one of three wind generation facilities with which PSO has long-term contracts totaling nearly 400 MW. A new request for proposals seeks to add another 200 MW of renewable energy to the company’s generation portfolio.
