You can help solve the problem of power outages and help us cut tree-trimming costs. PSO is working in the communities it serves to share information with customers about planting trees in the right place - and away from power lines.

• Only shrubs should be planted near or under power lines.
• Small variety trees need to be planted at least 15 feet away from power lines.
• Medium variety trees need to be planted at least 30 feet away from power lines.
• Large variety trees need to be planted at least 40 feet away from power lines.

This fall, teams of PSO employees placed 5,000 informational tags on trees at community nurseries, sharing information with customers and the public about planting the trees they purchase away from power lines.
