PSO Issues RFP For Long-Term Generation Resources
TULSA, Okla., May 14, 2008 – Public Service Company of Oklahoma (PSO), a subsidiary of American Electric Power (NYSE: AEP), has issued a request for proposals (RFP) seeking 450 to 600 megawatts (MW) of new generation resources to meet increases in customer demand for electricity. The new resources are to be available beginning in 2012.

AEP Provides $150,000 To ReGreen Tulsa Following the 2007 Ice Storm
TULSA, Okla., Mar. 13, 2008 – The American Electric Power Foundation has pledged to donate $150,000 over the next three years to the “ReGreening” effort in Tulsa. The donation will help achieve the ReGreen Tulsa goal of 20,000 trees planted by December 2010.

In response to last week’s devastating ice storm that left hundreds of thousands without power in northeastern Oklahoma, the American Electric Power Foundation has provided a $250,000 grant to The Salvation Army to create the Ice Storm Disaster Relief Fund to help individuals in five counties with the recovery effort.

OCC Denies Application for Red Rock Power Plant
Oklahoma Corporation Commissioners Monday issued an oral order denying PSO´s application for approval of the $1.8 billion Red Rock coal-fired power plant project. PSO had proposed to build the plant with Oklahoma Gas & Electric and the Oklahoma Municipal Power Authority. The vote to deny the application was 2-1.

PSO Implements Interim Rates
Public Service Company of Oklahoma (PSO), a unit of American Electric Power (NYSE: AEP), is implementing interim rates for residential customers pending a final order in its rate case at the Oklahoma Corporation Commission (OCC). The interim rates amount to an increase of approximately $8.6 million, which will implement a key provision of the rate case on which there seems to be agreement at the OCC. Specifically, the interim rates will increase the basic service charge for residential customers, which recognize some of the increased costs of providing service to those customers. Other components of the rate case will be implemented once the OCC issues a final order.

POWER PLANT MAKES DONATION FOR LOW WATER DAM REPAIRS

PSO Seeks Funding Boost For Reliability Enhancement
Public Service Company of Oklahoma (PSO) today filed an application with the Oklahoma Corporation Commission (OCC) to update the OCC on PSO’s Reliability Enhancement Plan and advise that an increase in the plan’s annual reliability spending cap is required for PSO to have sufficient funding to meet the four-year distribution tree-trimming cycle requirement included in the OCC’s service quality rules. PSO is requesting an increase in the annual cap from $11.81 million to $27.21 million to meet the four-year cycle trim requirement.

Lewellen Named PSO Manager
Public Service Company of Oklahoma recently named Derek Lewellen as manager, distribution for the company’s McAlester District, which encompasses much of southeastern Oklahoma. Lewellen began his career with PSO in 1989 as a substation design engineer in Tulsa. From there he moved to Lawton as a substation superintendent and later served as MDS over the Lawton District.

PSO Crews Return From Florida
15 Public Service Company of Oklahoma employees from the Lawton area will return home today after working to restore power to communities hit by Hurricane Charley in Florida. The PSO employees left Lawton for Florida on August 11. They worked in the Tampa area, under the direction of Tampa Electric, and then in Orlando with Progress Energy.

Oologah Teacher and Student Visit Belize as part of study program sponsored by AEP
Kellie Ann Capps, an English teacher at Oologah-Talala High School, and her sophomore daughter, Emilie Ann, were among six students and eight teachers who participated in a recent “Environmental Learning and Adventure in Belize” (E-LAB) program sponsored by Public Service Company of Oklahoma’s (PSO) parent company, American Electric Power.

Local Girl Scouts Learn about Environment on PSO-Sponsored Trip to Belize
For more than 90 years, appreciation and care of one´s natural surroundings has been at the core of the Girl Scout experience. This summer ten Girl Scouts learned about the importance of protecting the environment while on a nine-day expedition to the tropical forests of Belize, Mexico. Now they will share what they learned about ecosystems and archeology with younger Girl Scouts in Oklahoma.

The leadership team for the newly restructured Public Service Company of Oklahoma was named today by Stuart Solomon, PSO president and chief operating officer. The new team is responsible for PSO’s distribution operations, customer services, and external affairs across the company’s Oklahoma service territory, as part of the company’s emphasis on continuous improvements in electric distribution reliability and customer service.
